On Sunday, 11 January 2026, Avatar Meher Baba Kindred Hearts Foundation, Amravati carried out a heartfelt blanket distribution drive for tribal students at Dhakarmal in the remote Melghat region, approximately 160 kilometers from Amravati. The initiative was conducted in a warm and inspiring atmosphere, marking another step in the Foundation’s continued commitment to humanitarian service.
The program was organized at Gadge Maharaj Primary Secondary Ashram School and Junior College, where nearly 550 residential students reside and around 800 students receive education. The institution is situated in an extremely remote and underdeveloped area. During the monsoon season, connecting bridges often submerge under water, cutting off access to nearby villages for several days. Despite these challenges, the Ashram School continues its dedicated educational service.
The initiative was made possible after communication between the Foundation and Sant Gadge Maharaj Vruddhashram, Valgaon. Through Dr. Kailash Borase, the Foundation connected with the Ashram School’s Director, Mr. Dnyandeorao Mahakal Patil, who informed them about the difficult living conditions faced by the students, especially during winter. Responding immediately, the Foundation assured support in the form of warm blankets.
The Foundation team, including Founder-President Mr. Vishwajeet Parode and Founder-Secretary Mr. Swapnil Dhule, traveled to Melghat to personally conduct the distribution. The program began with a traditional welcome ceremony followed by floral tribute and lamp lighting before the statue of Gadge Maharaj. The school management extended a warm welcome and presented a biography and the “Dashkalami Sandesh” of Gadge Maharaj as a token of appreciation.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Swapnil Dhule emphasized the shared values of selfless service inspired by Meher Baba and Gadge Maharaj. He described the visit as the beginning of a meaningful association and assured continued support for the institution. He also expressed the Foundation’s willingness to help provide broader exposure to students from the Fashion Designing Department so their creative talents may reach appropriate platforms.
The blanket distribution drive was carried out in a spirit of compassion and dedication, reflecting the Foundation’s guiding principle, “Seva Parmo Dharma” — Service is the Highest Duty. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to extending humanitarian efforts to remote and underserved communities in the future.
On the sacred occasion marking the historic visit of Meher Baba to Amravati from 20th to 24th December 1952, the Avatar Meher Baba Kindred Hearts Foundation organized a city-wide blanket distribution drive from 20th to 24th December 2025 across various parts of Amravati.
Commemorating this spiritually significant period, the Foundation carried out the humanitarian initiative to support underprivileged and needy individuals affected by the winter season. The blanket distribution was conducted in multiple localities throughout the city, ensuring that assistance reached homeless individuals, elderly citizens, daily wage workers, and economically disadvantaged families.
Volunteers and office bearers of the Foundation personally visited different areas, interacted with beneficiaries, and distributed warm blankets with compassion and respect. The initiative was undertaken not only as a social service activity but also as a tribute to Meher Baba’s message of universal love, selfless service, and care for humanity.
Foundation representatives stated that remembering Baba’s arrival in Amravati is an opportunity to translate spiritual inspiration into meaningful action. By serving those in need during the winter months, the organization aimed to spread warmth both physically and emotionally within the community.
The drive witnessed positive community participation and appreciation from local residents. The Foundation reaffirmed its continued commitment to social welfare initiatives, especially on spiritually significant occasions.
Guided by its core principle — “Seva Parmo Dharma” (Service is the Highest Duty) — the organization remains dedicated to carrying forward humanitarian efforts that reflect the teachings of love, compassion, and service.

Recognizing the importance of ensuring basic necessities such as clean and adequate water supply, the Foundation promptly took the initiative to fulfill this requirement.
The program was conducted in a respectful and heartfelt atmosphere in the presence of the Old Age Home’s Director, Dr. Kailas Borase, along with members and representatives of the Foundation.
During the occasion, Dr. Kailas Borase spoke about the inspiring lives and teachings of Avatar Meher Baba and Gadge Maharaj, highlighting their shared message of selfless service, compassion, and dedication to humanity.
